A very successful weekend based at Tokoroa Club commenced on Friday evening when more than 100 early arrivals turned up and received their reunion kit that included a cap decked in NZ Forest Products Ltd orange, and the once familiar green pine tree logo in a white circle. On Saturday morning most of the balance of over 350 participants arrived including six from Australia. At 9:30 am the first of five bus trips commenced. The itinerary included a visit to the Kinleith Log Yard, through the Forestry to dairy farm conversions area east of Tokoroa, and then approximately 30 minutes viewing a hauler logging operation that included the latest technology in tree felling and sorting. Participantís also reminisced as they viewed vintage trucks that came from all over North Island and three former NZFP trucks from South Island. The display also included old earthmoving machinery, in an area adjacent to Tokoroa Club, and also admired the many modern logging trucks from todayís fleet that were on hand. Saturday concluded with a function at Tokoroa Club where they were welcomed by Tokoroa Club President Warrick Felton. Bruce Nairn as Master of Ceremonies, and there was not a murmur as one of the forestry industries icons, Tony Grayburn addressed the large gathering. Sam Papa spoke on behalf of the participants. For more than hardier souls the weekend concluded on Sunday with breakfast at Tokoroa Club.
